Eurosport – soccer.com
Sports Endeavors (www.sportsendeavors.com), the parent of Eurosport, soccer.com, and The Great Atlantic Lacrosse Company was founded by the Brothers Moylan in 1984. They are based out of North Carolina and continue to be one of the bigger/better catalog and on-line purveyors of soccer gear. Their prices, while not spectacular, are competitive.
In the past, they have always processed my orders quickly and I have never had a problem with the items shipped or the customer service. Recently, I purchased a number of items from them. My order consisted of a variety of items from different manufacturers and required multiple shipments. For at least some of those items, the expected ship date was at least seven days from the date I placed my order. Very soon after placing my order, I received the standard confirmation in my email. I realized that I had made an error in my order. I immediately sent an email to customer service requesting an increase in the quantity of one item. The change happened to be on an item that (I thought) would not ship for at least another seven days. Unfortunately they were unable to change the order because it had already been processed. I knew that the order had been processed, since that is what generates the email confirmation. My confusion and concern came from the inflexibility. If the item would not be shipped for seven days, why not adjust the order? As it turned out, the items were all in stock and my entire order was shipped within 48 hours.
Bottom Line:
The majority of my experience with soccer.com has been positive. If you will be placing many orders over the course of a year or are going to be placing large orders, consider their “Goal Club” (a paid discount membership). I will continue to shop with them along with others, but if I have another problem, I will call customer services. Email just isn’t fast enough to make a correction.
