The Mercurial GK jersey ($70) is a very light weight match jersey constructed of Nike’s “Sphere Dry” polyester.  It is a moisture wicking and breathable fabric that has held up to a great deal of abuse with no staining or fading.
 
The Mercurial was introduced at the World Cup with several players wearing this jersey.  There are three color combinations available: Black/anthracite, Cayman blue/Slate blue, comet red/ brick house red (red/orange).
 
In general, the design is targeted at match play and experienced keepers.  It does not have any of the rugby style padding or inserts that are common for new keepers or practice kit.  The collar is lower in the front for comfort and the bottom is longer in the back to keep it tucked in during aggressive play.
 
The fabric is a unique basket weave that is extremely breathable.  I had reservations about this in the beginning.  I worried about snagging and about tears from diving and sliding.  I still would not use this as a practice jersey, but it has held up for match play.  We have washed it on a delicate cycle and line dried it with excellent results.
