AVID Soccer Award Nominees 2006 "Best Ball"

There are only three things required to play soccer: Players, Goals and the ball.  Therefore, selecting the best ball becomes one of the most challenging categories.  All balls must take the abuse of practice, have consistent feel, hold their shape and look totally cool.  Vote for your favorite.

Construction makes a world of difference in how a ball plays.  Balls that are too heavy are fine for practice, but can cause problems in a game.  Balls with good weather proofing are often slick and difficult to control when wet.  Balls that have bold graphics may wear quickly and look used up.  Balls with simple graphics are just plain boring, after all, soccer if supposed to be fun.

The Nominees are:

  • Hummel H Spot
  • Lotto Leggenda Pro
  • Brine Premier
  • adidas Teamgeist Replique
Balls are judged on shape, feel/control, durability, aesthetics/desirability, price and availability.  Please weigh in on our nominees by adding your comments and experience below:
