The Premier ($70) jersey is a heavy, padded garment.  It makes a fine three season jersey for keepers that like padding.  This jersey is no longer being produced, but it is available at deep discounts at some outlets.

The jersey is a shiny tri-color garment made of heavy weight polyester.  The sleeves have quilted padding at the shoulder and elbow.  The mock turtleneck has an elastic collar as do the sleeves.  It has resisted staining and has held its shape (except for the elastic at the collar/cuff).  The discounted price makes this a good value if it is available in the proper size and color.   We were able to find it on-line for less than $30.

This is a good first/only jersey.  The robust nature of this garment provides some confidence.  The material will hold up to significant punishment and the padding may help players unaccustomed to the bumps and bruises of diving and sliding.  The weight does make it uncomfortable in hotter weather or for training.  However, for players in colder climates or playing through the winter, the added weight may be welcome.
