AVID Soccer Awards 2006 “Best Kit”

AVID Soccer Awards 2006 “Best Kit”

Our three candidates for Best Kit each represented a slightly different market segment.  To level the playing field, we evaluated them on fit, finish, comfort and value.

Our nominees fill the varied role of select team/travel team, JH/Middle school and club level home/away.  They also fit three different price points.

The Nike Park is simple, plain and cheap.  It is available in many colors, from many retailers.  It can be personalized for a team with heat transfer or silk screening.  Given its plain design, it needs something.

The Dasport Victory is mid-price kit that brings some style and higher end fabrics into play.  It was very comfortable and held up well.

The Puma Monaco is definitely top flight.  It is made from breathable microfibers, is offered in Home/Away colors and has plenty of style, but costs significantly more than either of the others.

“And the winner is…”

…the Dasport Victory.  The combination of price, quality, comfort, and aesthetics allowed the Victory to sneak past the Monaco.  We think this kit is the best value in this group.  The only detraction was the color combinations.  With only a few colors and no true opposite home/away variants, this is strictly one color per team.  The lack of variety also limits the number of teams in a league that could use this kit.  We think these problems are minor and could be overcome.
