adidas F50+ ForMotion LS Training Top

The F50+ ($80) long sleeve jersey is a very light weight, breathable top.  This pale grey shirt uses the ForMotion design methodology to provide maximum airflow.  It is an asymmetrical design intended for the pitch or the street.

The garment is well fitted.  It is styled to fit close to the body.  The ForMotion design uses a variety of fabrics providing strength at the shoulder and outer arm, vents at the side and back, wicking fabric throughout.  The garment includes two design style elements.  The right side has a reflective stripe that serpentines from shoulder to waist.  The left side uses a stylized version of the traditional adidas tri-stripe.  The back includes two mesh vents with a similar serpentine style.

adidas has created a unique design with this top.  It has proved to be extremely sturdy for such a light weight garment.  We have tested this jersey under a variety of training and game situation.  In an effort to challenge the strength of this garment we used it as a GK jersey during several games.  It shows no sign of stretching, staining, or wear.  It has cleaned up well after all circumstances.

The ForMotion design forces air through the entire garment as the wearer moves.  The flow is achieved through three dimensional flow mapping in the design phase.  This effort works well outisde, but ForMotion doesn't work nearly as well in the gym.  Of the four ForMotion garments we tested, the F50 Training Top works the best inside.
