adidas Predator LS Training Top
The long sleeve Predator training jersey ($75) was the testor's favorite of the ForMotion garments we have tested. It has a unique design that makes it functional in a variety of scenarios.
The white/black/red top is an attractive looking garment both for the field player and for the keeper. We tested it in both circumstances giving this jersey an abusive workout over several months.
The design is similar to the short sleeve predator jersey we reviewed previously. The jersey is constructed of a variety of materials providing three-dimensional airflow around the body. There are vents at the sides, moisture wicking materials in select spots and soft Clima360 fabrics throughout. The one unique feature is the thumb hole. The arms are designed to reach just past the wrist. The thumb hole keeps the jersey from bouncing around and getting in the way. Our keepers found this to be an outstanding feature. It allowed them to pull their gloves over the sleeve easily with no bunching. It was much more comfortable than the usual ribbed cuff. The graphics are all heat transfer including the predator stripes, the adidas logo in the front and teamgeist logo in the back.
The ForMotion design makes this a 3+ season garment. We tested this jersey in both training and game simulations. As a field jersey, it is useful in all but the hottest weather. The long sleeves may also be appreciated by fair skinned players as sun protection. For our keepers, this is a year round garment. The white color and prolific air movement make this a preferred choice in the summer. Add an insulating layer underneath and it works just as well in the winter.
We have tested four different ForMotion garments. Links to the previous three are below.
