Vizari Elite 360 Touch FRF GK Glove

The Elite 360 ($60) is a mid-tier glove targeted at young/recreational keepers.  The glove has a moderately sticky palm that is also fairly durable.  The back hand is padded and protected.  This is not a true boned glove; however, the FRF system provides some protection for the fingers and backhand.

AVID Soccer Equipment Review Vizari Elite 360 Touch GK GloveThe glove actually does provide a significant amount of protection.  The Finger Reinforcement Frame (FRF) does provide some resistance to hyperextension, it resists closing almost as much.  The FRF covers the four fingers and the backhand providing additional protection to the hand  There is no FRF in the thumb.

The 3mm Prosoft latex palm is good for dry and damp conditions, but would not work as well in truly wet conditions.  For wet conditions, a glove generally needs embedded materials such as carbon or titanium in the latex.  The Elite 360 earns the name by providing padding on all sides.  The thumb carries extra padding as does the backhand.  The fingers are padded, but have venting patches for comfort and flexibility.  The closure is a doubled Velcro latch with elastic underneath.

The gloves are easy to get on and off.  They have stained some, but have not acquired the biohazard stench of most gloves.  The latex at the palms shows some signs of wear at the fingertip, but they have held up better than similarly priced gloves.  The Vizari Elite 360s are available through many general sporting goods retailers.  This could be a good fit for someone that is just starting club or is a part-time player.

The bottom line is that these are adequate for their price point.  GK Gloves are a very personal thing and they should be tried by the player before any purchase.  In this range/target market, we prefer the adidas Fingersave Junior or less expensive gloves without the bones.  The Fingersave Junior's are not widely available, so the Elite's may still be the better choice.
