Sator Soccer (Web/Catalog Store)

Sator Soccer is a So Cal soccer shop that offers low cost gear and coaching equipment.  Their location makes for a quick turnaround, but the selection is limited.

The prices as Sator are on par or better than many other retailers.  They only carry a small selection and very few unique items.  For example, they offer six models of shorts all from the same manufacturer.  Obviously this is not the place to outfit an entire league, or even a club, but individuals looking for practice kit may find what they are looking for.  The catalog is mainly populated with low to mid tier boots, gloves and kit.  The equipment and accessories selection is better, but not spectacular.

The strength we found was coaching equipment.  All of the basics are covered and the prices are good.  The selection is limited, but everything needed for a parent coach or part-time trainer is available. Volume discounts, well described in the catalog, are available for supplying all of the teams in a club. Camps and leagues should look elsewhere as there are no personalization options.

We ordered a number of items from different manufacturers to test the website, delivery times, shipping/packing and customer service. The on-line shopping cart/ordering process was simple and flexible. We noticed that common sizes of some items were unavailable. A note of “limited sizes available” would relieve some frustration. The items were shipped quickly. Given their location, we chose standard ground shipping. Our products were delivered within a few days saving. Similar response time from a European or East Coast e- tailer would have required airfreight increasing the cost significantly.

In general, we would recommend Sator Soccer for coaches or trainers looking fill their equipment bags. Referees will also find all of their need met. Players looking for practice kit may also find items of interest as long as they are not looking for the latest and greatest (read most expensive) items.

Thank you for this great bit of information! I thoroughly enjoy reading about the equipment reviews - and am particularly glad to read about the better-priced equipment. As a parent in the early stages of my childs soccer interest, this is what I needed to know.
