Agora 6’ Training Flags

These Training flags ($4) resemble (and often are) the same safety flags used on bicycles. They have a flexible fiberglass shaft and a bright orange pennant. These are a luxury for the one time/first time coach, but an asset to the year round coach/trainer.

AVID Soccer Review - Agora Training Flags The Agora flags can be used for training obstacles, corner flags or goals. These are comprised of a two piece shaft with a fiberglass collar for the connection. The base is pointed making it easier to insert in the ground. The six foot height is a good balance between portability and usefulness.

Pros:

These flags are an inexpensive way to add a great deal of variety to a training regime. Most coaches will need 10 or less to perform a myriad of drills and games.
For scrimmages and inter-squad games, they are sufficient for corner flags or even full width goals.

For younger players, the flexible shaft may be safer than a stiff training pole, while affording almost the same number of uses.

Cons:

The fiberglass joining collar is more brittle and prone to breakage than a metal collar would be.

The pointed base becomes a weapon to unsupervised players.

36” segments are longer than most equipment bags and a 36” bag is too big to carry all the time.
