Force29 Forcefield Head Protection

The Forcefield head protector ($15) is a padded headband that provides a cushion for the player.  Its appearance is no different than any other terry cloth headband.  It works well and our players felt comfortable without feeling self conscious.

AVID Soccer Equipment Review Forcefield HeadbandThe biggest issue with any form of protection is getting a player to wear it.  Because the Forcefield  looks just like any other headband, it does not carry the stigma of "riding the short bus."  We offered the Forcefield to both our male and female testers.  The girls liked the look and the soft microfiber fabric.  The boys, who rarely wear headbands anyway, said they wouldn't wear it a game.  Both stated they were far more likely to wear this than the Full90.  The headband is available in red, black, blue, white, pink, green, and gold.

Our primary tester appreciated both the impact protection and the moisture protection.  Since the Forcefield is washable, it is easily cleaned.  It can be worn with the logo out or the seam out.  Because it is the same size and shape as any other headband, it can be used in almost any sport or circumstances where protection is desired including soccer, rugby, field hockey, basketball or under some helmets as additional padding and moisture protection.

The Forcefield is available through the Force29 web site.  Force29 is based in New Jersey and carries a number of patents related to head protection.  Visit the Force29 site for more information on the forcefield and sports related head injuries.

The ForceField protective headband is the first unique product designed for the sport of soccer, basketball and for young children in playgrounds. It absorbs perspiation, looks just like a regular sweatband but also absorbs and dissipayes a significant amount of impact forces.
