Nike Course Running L/S Top

The Course ($45) is a light weight long sleeve top constructed of Nike’s Sphere Dry fabric.  The top is very comfortable and performs well on the pitch, on the street and in the gym.

Several of our testers have come to appreciate long sleeve tops even in hotter weather, both for the sun protection and for the moisture control.  The Course is no exception.  This top, available in several colors, is light enough to wear in fairly hot weather.

The garment is constructed of Sphere Dry.  This is a microfiber wicking fabric that has a slightly rough interior surface.  The namesake spheres are intended to keep the fabric from sticking to skin.  This works well and is comfortable.  The top also features some 3M Scotchlite reflective material at the shoulder seams.  The Course runs about a half size large.  In general, this isn’t noticeable.  However, one of our testers did not like the sleeve length.  The cuffs reached about mid palm on a 6’1” player wearing a large.

This top is very basic in style.  Both the slate gray and white tops we tested are plain except for the scotchlite and a small embroidered Nike swoosh.  None of the openings at collar, cuffs or waist have any elastic.  This allows airflow through the garment, but can make donning/doffing a bit difficult.
