Brine QED 500 Replica

The QED 500 ($44) is a mid-level match ball or advanced training ball.  Constructed with a proprietary bladder, the ball has excellent air and shape retention.  The ball has good feel and balance.

AVID Soccer Equipment Review Brine QED 500The 500 is a replica of the QED 600 used in NCAA games, this ball has most of the same construction and playability.  The 32 panel cover is a quality polyurethane (PU) that is soft without being spongy.  The AirTech bladder provides nearly the same touch of natural latex with better air retention.  It is also well balanced.  The ball shows no signs of scuffing or tearing.

The graphic of the QED 500 is a fairly attractive symmetrical abstraction.  It provides good visibility with lots of white space for night time play.  The silver in the white/silver/black screening is not reflective.   The main field is filled with a white-on-white watermark that resembles the standard Brine triangle pattern ball.  The graphics have held up well.
