Reebok Premier Road Lite IV
The Road Lite ($95) is a mid-distance road shoe designed for airflow and cushion. The shoe is fairly lightweight with an open mesh design. They are comfortable and breathe well. The midsole is adequate for most distances.
The upper is a combination of open mesh, leather and strategically placed padding. The Road Lite is designed with a higher than normal arch that may not be comfortable to some users. The sole falls into Reebok’s Lightweight category intended for faster and shorter distances. It is designed with a flexible forefoot and a spring type midsole. The outsole is a multi-density material that should provide long wear. The Premier Road Lite IV running shoe is uses the Reebok DMX Shear materials in the heel to absorb the stress at heel impact and provide vertical and horizontal cushioning. 3M Scotchlite®, a safety feature, on the upper allows others to see you while running in low light condition.

The padding is limited to the ankle/heel and tongue. There are two types of mesh. There is a small fishnet between the ankle and toe box that has no lining. This allows a great deal of air to flow through the shoe. The tongue, heel and toe box have a wider mesh that is lined. Our Relay Red/White/Black test pair came with a flaw. The smaller mesh near the heel was ripped on arrival. It has not ripper further, but it exposes a weak point in the design. The padding at the ankle is ok, but poorly designed. If functions, but has become detached from the glue points. These are a decent short to mid-distance (< 5 miles) running shoe, but I have not found them comfortable in longer distances.
