Protime Sport Boston/Miami Kit

The Boston/Miami ($25) is a recreational league level kit constructed of a synthetic microfiber.  The kit is light weight, sturdy and bright.  The fabric did feel very "polyester" against the skin, but performed well for the price point.

AVID Soccer Equipment Review Protime Boston JerseyThe Boston jersey has an interesting two tone light/dark color combination.  There are two home/away combinations in Royal/White and Red/Black.  The 17 other combinations are base/accent only.  Both front and back have large open spaces for numbers and team graphics.  The fabric is a polyester microfiber called Wickguard.  It has a very "High School PE" feel, but it does stay fairly dry.  The fabric is light and the colors are very bright, even after several wash and wear cycles.  The jersey feels delicate, but shows no signs of stretching, shrinking or snags.  Our test examples ran about 1/2 size larger that stated.

The fabric did not seem to pull moisture away from the skin as well; however, the jersey never stuck to the skin.  Players that do not like to "feel sweaty" should wear an underlayer.  Air movement around the body and through the jersey was non-existent as there are no mesh patches in this design.  Given a price of under $13, we think this is excusable.

AVID Soccer Equipment Review Protime Miami ShortThe Miami short was the star of this pair.  While only available in a few colors, the shorts still have style.  We game tested a pair on one of our keepers.  They survived multiple dives and slides during a hard fought game at UC Irvine.  The shorts washed up good as new.

The Miami does not have any venting/mesh either.  Airflow was not a problem for the shorts, nor was moisture management.  The shorts fit true to size.

Protime Sports is a direct to consumer manufacturer of soccer kit.  Based in the Seattle area, Protime offers five different field player jersey styles and two styles of shorts.  They also have a keeper jersey and socks to outfit the entire team/league.  Protime also offers heat transfer and screening services for the kit.
