adidas FS Wetgrip Ti

The adidas Fingersave Wetgrip Titanium ($110) gloves are actually a good all-around match glove.  The wetgrips are a combination of climacool and latex.  These gloves contain the second generation bones.  The palm latex includes embedded titanium shards for better grip.

The FS Wetgrip Ti use the second generation bones.  Most companies use a fabric ribbon with plastic rectangles to create an articulated finger.  The current generation of adidas Fingersave bones use a multi-density polymer to create the same effect,  The bones have a unique barbell shape that creates stiffness along the fingers and flexibility at the joints.  These bones are both stronger and more flexible than the standard fabric joints.  However, we still managed to break the index finger after about mid-season.

AVID Soccer Equipment Review adidas FS Wetgrip TiThe backhand is latex with climacool patches for ventilation.  The closure straps are made of the same latex and ripped before the fingertips wore out.  Each of the fingers also has climacool on the sides for additional venting.  This is necessary for proper drying after a wet game.

The palms contain 3mm of the adidas E4S latex with embedded titanium for grip.  AVID Soccer's testing found the gloves to be exceptionally sure in wet weather.  In some cases, the latex is too sticky.  If the gloves are allowed to dry with the thumb touching the palm or the two palms touching, they will fuse and rip when separated.

Unless you play in wet conditions often, wet weather gloves are a luxury item.  These are no exception.  The combination of materials and design make the Wetgrip Ti are a good match glove, but they are too delicate for training.  In our opinion, these should be limited to a third pair for use only in wet conditions.  If they are given proper care, they will last for many games.
