Nike T90 Spyne Pro
The Spyne's are Nike's first foray back into the boned glove market since the ill fated "wire" gloves. The Spyne Pro ($60) is a recreational match or training level gloves. The bones are standard faire and the construction is good for the price point.
AVID Soccer's testing of the Spyne Pro found them to be of good quality for the price point. They are well constructed, but made of mid-tier materials, but have held up well to repeated abuse. The latex has lasted longer than we would have expected for 3mm soft foam. The bones are of average quality, but have not broken. The vinyl back hand material has also survived our testing. The weakest point is the thumb. The material is thinner. The Spyne Pro is not well vented and can be very hot during the summer. The latex does not work as well when wet.
Overall, these gloves are a good value. We would recommend them for training, but not for match play. It is possible to find prior season models at or near this price that work better under match conditions.
