The Puma v.06 sock ($12) is a kit/game day piece with an interesting style.  The socks are standard uniform fair knit constructed of synthetic fibers.  They are a two color design with a prominent Puma logo central to the design.

The v.06 is a medium weight knit of 95/5% Nylon/Spandex.  It is available in black/white, green/white, navy/white, royal/white, red/white, white/black (shown) and black/red.  They are a good looking sock, if a bit odd.  The accent color/white version give the illusion that the player's calves are much bigger than they are.  The materials are generally comfortable, but without a wicking fiber or mesh in the weave, they do not remove sweat from the feet.  These socks do not have any additional support at the ankle or arch and there is no additional padding at the heal or ball of the foot.  They run true to size and fit normally inside the boots. 

Our experience with these socks has been disappointing.  Of the 18 pairs tested, several have large snags.  This has not been a problem with previous Puma socks.  The materials and knit seem to be inferior to others at this price point  Therefore, they should be limited to game day or they may not survive the practice pitch.

Overall, the v.06 socks may be offered at a good price when part of a full kit.  As a stand alone sock, there are many other options at this price point that offer better performance, comfort, and wear.
