Diadora Brasil Axeler RTX 14
The Brasil Axeler RTX 14 ($135) is a combination of a classically design upper and modern designed platform. This boot takes advantage of many of Diadora's innovations including the stud pattern and Axeler wire.

The Brasil looks and feels like a classic boot. The symmetric lacing pattern and fold over tongue make our black and white example look at home on any pitch. However, the classic turns decidedly modern when we look deeper. The upper is supple kangaroo leather with a Cambrelle lining. Cambrelle is a wicking material that also helps prevent stretching. The heel has a full cup, providing good support. The midsole and sock liner combine to proved a comfortable fit and reasonable padding.
The cleat pattern and platform design are where the Brasil really differs from traditions. The Brasil uses a 14 cleat pattern that uses a hybrid of studs and blades. The cleats are at a positioned at different angles to provide grip for movement in any direction. They are positioned at critical points on the Axeler wire. Axeler is Diadora technology that provides additional stiffness at the heel and flexibility at the ball of the foot. The zig zag wire pattern also provides a solid power platform.
Out on the pitch, the Brasil is a comfortable boot. The boots provide consistent touch on the ball and confidence when making lateral movements. As a traditional boot, they stack up well against the Legend or Mundial. As a modern boot, they are a bit heavy, but hold there own. Those players interested in Diadora but accustomed to the added control offered by friction on the toe should look to the Maracana or Maximus.
