Puma V1.08 Premier Match Ball
The V 1.08 ($100) is a professional level match ball featuring a variety of innovations including Puma's unique panel design, a dimpled cover and d3o adaptive cushioning material.
"Revolutionary" is an overused and under deserved term. In the case of the V1.08, it might be deserved. This ball uses a material called d3o. This material has a unique molecular structure providing and progressive dampening rate. This means that the harder you strike the ball, the harder the ball will be. Soft touches are met with soft feel while hard strikes transfer all of the momentum to the ball. This intelligent technology makes for a ball suited to each situation. Underneath the cover, there is a multilayer system to help maintain the shape. The bladder is latex for the best feel.

But wait, there's more... Puma threw the technical kitchen sink into this ball. The cover is a dimpled polyurethane using Puma's 24 panel Concept 45 pattern. This creates an exceptionally round ball. The dimples are much less pronounced than on the V3.08 we reviewed earlier to be point that they are almost nonexistent. Lastly, the V1.08 uses a perimeter weighting system to offset the airlock valve. This ball carries the FIFA Approved logo meeting FIFA's highest standard. This qualifies the V 1.08 for the highest level match play.
