Boots are what connect us to the ground.  The AVID Soccer nominees take three very different approaches.  Lotto, Diadora and adidas are all hallmarks of our sport.  This year each has produced a boot that deserves our attention.

Our nominees have each garnered significant attention from our testers.  Each boot has its advantages and reasons for being in this list.

adidas Predator PowerSwerve TRX FG/SG

The Predator was 2007's Boot of the Year and the runner up in our Boot Shoot-Out.  Each year, adidas has evolved the Predator with minor changes.  They are comfortable and durable.

Diadora Maracana RTX 12 FG

The undeniable value leader in this years boot selection.  At half the price of the predator, it has all of the important features including kangaroo leather, axeler technology, multi shape/direction studs and a mid-weight.

Lotto Zhero Gravity

Simply put, the Zhero Gravity is the coolest boot we have ever tested.  These Ferrari's of the soccer world are light and flexible to the point that you forget they are even there.  It takes a while to get used to them, but once you do...

The criteria for Best Boot is simple:

• Best value - Unlike the shoot-out, price matters
• Comfort and playability - How do they feel and how much control do you have
• Desirability - Which boot do you most want to be seen wearing
• Reality - Where did you spend your money
