Soccer Wall T-Man

Training equipment comes in a variety of shapes, sizes and approaches.  The Soccer Wall T-Man ($330 for a set of 4 Adult) is a convertible system that provides obstacles (mannequins), training poles, soccer tennis and goal.

This versatile system is light weight and easy to transport.  The mannequins are cloth shapes that stand in on set plays or walk-throughs.  Remove the forms and you have training poles.  Split two of the poles and fit the net to have either a goal or soccer tennis.  There are packages of mini, youth and adult sizes.  They are offered in 4 ($330), 6 ($440), 8 ($530) and 10 ($620) player/pole sets.

Each of the components is useful during practice, but some transitions may take too long for a single workout. Unfortunately, we didn't get much time with the system. Therefore, we could not test the durability.  The fabric is lightweight and we worry that repeated abuse from a high school varsity or U17/18 team could break the forms.  The training poles, net and goal are on par with similar products sold as individual components.

We think this is a great combination, but probably too pricy for the average coach.  Our recommendation is for the club or high school level.  One set for every few teams to share seems like a good compromise.  No combination of components is necessary for every practice, but the mannequins are very useful for set plays and free kicks.  The poles are nice, but can be replaced by flags or cones in most drills.  The soccer tennis game is for specific practice objectives and will not get used frequently.  The goals work OK, but pop-ups work better and full sized goals are required for game simulation.

$199 for 4 youth mannequins seems ok.
Not exactly affordable for all but if you know the prices video consoles and video games themselves cost, its not outrageous.
The adult model is already up there enough enough in price that I would think about it before.
My neighbour and I both have kids so we decided buy it the 4-man set together to save on costs. Very impressed by it. The stitching could use a second run though.
    Most importantly, it is light.
Changing setups takes barely more time than moving cones. Not sure how long it will tough it out but the kids spend the last two year building their own 'wall' out of cardboard, wood and a few hockey sticks and ski poles.
    This just seemed safer!
