The adidas hero hoodie series includes jackets dedicated to favorite players including our Frank Lampard ($55) example.  This jacket is not the usual fleece, but a much nicer closed loop terrycloth.

Frank Lampard is a Chelsea FC hero, how hails from a football family (his father played for Westham and England and he is related to Harry and Jamie Redknapp).  He plays a powerful midfielder with scoring potential.  He has earned his way to a starting spot with England and a sometimes captain for Chelsea.  At the time of this writing, he is the all time leading goal scorer from the Chelsea's midfield.  Holding such honors, and being endorsed by adidas, earns him his own jacket.

The jacket is constructed of a 60/40 cotton/polyester blend that is lighter than the average fleece hoodie.  The lining is a closed loop terry (think bath towel) that is extremely comfortable on warmer days.  This is a great post swim or post workout jacket as it will keep you warm without being too hot.  The closed loop also does a better job of capturing moisture than fleece.

The graphics are a bit garish, but that is to be expected when honoring a hero.  The front is a screened logo covering the entire chest.  It is a stylized version of the club logo incorporating the players name and number.  The stitching on the kangaroo pocket and across the back is done in gold.  The Chelsea version is blue and white.  The Lionel Messi (of Barcelona and Argentina fame) is done in a blue and red combination.  Our testers preferred the Chelsea version, but that Barcelona had fans as well.

The jacket runs true to size and has cleaned up well.  We have not yet abused it, but it seems well constructed.  The stitching is standard adidas quality and the screened logo should age with character.  The embroidery should last longer.
