The Nike Holland Anthem jacket ($75) is heavier than the usual warm-up.  It is constructed of a soft blended material and fits snugly.  The Anthem is not part of the Dutch uniform, but it is officially licensed.

The Netherlands is an interesting soccer country.  They only have one club that regularly fairs well in Europe they remain near the top of the FIFA country rankings.  That is due largely to the training methods of Total Soccer.  Dutch players are encouraged to be creative and spontaneous from a young age.  This gives players like van Nistlerooy, Kuyt, van Persie, and Robben all a chance to score.  It also makes the Oranje one of the most exciting teams to watch.

Nike created the Anthem jacket as part tribute (they sponsor the national team) and part function.  The jacket appears similar to team gear, but is more useful off the pitch.  It carries the traditional lion logo and Nederland name on the back.  The jacket is 59/41 cotton/polyester blend in a dense weave.  It has resisted snag and stretching.  The jacket is not lined, and breaths well.  It has non-zippered slash pockets.  The waist and cuffs are non ribbed, but they do have some elastic stretch.  The collar has an interesting band detail that adds depth and texture to the visual appeal.

The Koninklijke Nederlandse Voetbalbond ("Royal Netherlands Football Association") logo is an embroidered patch.  The Nike logos front/back are both embroidered.  The Nederland name is a heat transfer.  The blue details are inset fabric.  The is an athletic cut with a slim waist and standard shoulders.

After many weeks of regular abuse, our white example is starting to show a few light stains.  This really is intended more as a fashion jacket than training gear.  The dense weave have held up very well.  With proper cleaning and normal use, this jacket should last for years.  Wear it with pride during the 2010 WC in South Africa.
