Diadora Ermano Tracksuit
The Diadora Ermano/Primato ($64/$36) Track Suit is truly a players garment. The quality and style place it as one of the most thoughtful and desirable training suits we have seen.

The Ermano jacket is classic Italian design: sleek lines, snug fit, simplicity of form, and dead sexy. The jacket is an elastane (spandex) polyester giving it great stretch. It allows for an athletic cut that tapers at down the sleeve and at the waist. The cuffs are simply hemmed with no need for ribbing. The waist follows suit. Each of the color combinations (black/red; navy/black; red/black) has accent panels that trace the front of the jacket from cuff to waist. This further accentuates the athletic cut. We noticed that the sleeves are a bit difficult to remove when wearing long sleeves underneath. In general, this would only be a problem for a goal keeper.
The track jacket has a stand up collar. The interior and a small patch on the left lapel are in the contrasting color. The full front zipper and pocket zippers all have rubber pulls with the Diadora logo. There is also an embroidered name logo at the left shoulder, arrow logo at the collar and small Italian shields on the sleeves. The lapels are thicker than most jackets giving them added heft. This helps with wind in the cold, but it also tends to open up if the jacket is unzipped all the way. There is also a pullover crew collar version of the jacket.
Where the Ermano was stylish, the Primato is functional. Every detail is designed for the player. They are a plain black pant with an embroidered name and piping detail. The fabric has the same look as the jacket without the stretch. This allows them to flow without binding.
The pockets are made of a mesh material and double stitched into the seem. They have zippers with small pulls that hide underneath the slash seem. The ankle zipper is a full 14 inches giving lots of room to slide off over boots. One of the most important details is the cleat patch. On the inside of each leg is a large panel. It is made of an abrasion resistant elastic material that will hold up much better to the grass, mud and scuffing that comes from cleats. It is reminiscent of ski pants and serves the same purpose.
As a combination, the Ermano/Primato is one of the best training suits we have seen. At about $100, it meets or exceeds items costing significantly more.
